Add your professional photo

Upload your professional photo, frame it, and understand why a photo is required before you publish.

Short answer

Open the Brand tab, or the Basics panel in Profile, and upload your photo. CardCloser accepts PNG, JPEG and WebP up to 10 MB, and gives you a framing control so the crop is yours rather than automatic. A photo is required to publish.

Your photo is the first thing anyone looks at, and it is one of the five things CardCloser requires before you can publish. It is also used in your Share Graphics, so it is worth getting right once.

Upload it

  1. Open the Brand tab, or expand the Basics panel in the Profile tab. Both edit the same photo.
  2. Choose your photo file.
  3. Use the framing control to position and size your face inside the frame.
  4. Save.

Helpful tips

  • A plain, uncluttered background reads better at small sizes than a detailed one.
  • Frame from mid-chest up. A full-body shot becomes a face-shaped smudge on a phone.
  • Use a recent photo. A client who meets somebody else forms an impression you will spend the rest of the appointment correcting.
  • A professional shoot helps, but good natural light against a clean wall genuinely works.

Your photo is stored privately until you publish. Uploaded media lives in a private store. A copy is published alongside your profile only when your profile is public, and it is withdrawn when you unpublish.

Why a photo is required

CardCloser is a proof profile, and a page with no face is not persuasive. Rather than let somebody publish a page that will not work, CardCloser asks for the photo first.

The other four requirements are your name, professional title, primary market and one public contact method.

If this doesn't work

The upload fails or nothing happens.
Check the file is PNG, JPEG or WebP and under 10 MB. HEIC files from an iPhone are a common cause — see I cannot upload a file.
The photo appears and then disappears.
The upload completed but the save did not. Save the panel and reload. My photo or media is missing covers this exactly.
The crop cuts off your head.
Reopen the framing control and drag the image. CardCloser does not auto-crop your face for you, precisely so that this stays your decision.
