Write your Short bio and About Me
Three separate pieces of writing, each doing a different job, and how long each should be.
Short answer
The About panel holds three fields: a Short bio of one to three lines for your profile card, a Professional About Me for your experience and approach, and a Personal About Me of a sentence or two about life outside real estate.
CardCloser asks for three pieces of writing rather than one long biography, because they appear in different places and are read by people in different moods.
The three fields
What each field does
| Field | Length | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Short bio | One to three lines | On your profile card, near the top |
| Professional About Me | A few paragraphs | In your About section |
| Personal About Me | A sentence or two | As its own short note in About |
Each field shows how many characters you have left as you type, so you do not have to count.
Write them
- Open the Profile tab and expand the About panel.
- Write your Short bio first. This is the line somebody reads before they decide whether to keep reading.
- Write your Professional About Me: your experience, how you work, and what a client can expect.
- Optionally write your Personal About Me. Leave it blank and it simply does not appear.
- Save.
What to actually write
- Short bio: what you do and who for, in plain words. Not a slogan. "Helping first-time buyers in south Charlotte find a home they can afford" beats "Excellence. Integrity. Results."
- Professional About Me: the things a client cannot infer from a photo — how long you have done this, what you specialise in, what working with you is like.
- Personal About Me: one true human detail. This is the field that makes a stranger feel they have met you, and it stops working the moment it becomes a second biography, which is why it is short.
Write in the first person. A bio in the third person reads like somebody else wrote it, because somebody else usually did. Clients notice.
Should I mention my brokerage in the bio?
You do not need to — the Brokerage field in Basics already carries it. Repeating it in prose uses room you could spend on something a client cannot get elsewhere.
Check your brokerage's advertising rules, though. Some require specific disclosure wording in agent-authored copy.
If this doesn't work
- Your text is being cut off.
- The Short bio and Personal About Me both have a limit, shown as characters left under the field. The Professional About Me is where longer writing belongs.
- The About section does not appear on your public profile.
- Check Profile Sections — About can be hidden. See Choose what appears on your public profile.
